| Hi Everyone!! I'm Carole, 25 from France. I'd like to find new snail mail friends all over the world!! My fav. countries are SPAIN, JAPAN, S.KOREA, RUSSIA, AUSTRALIA, and of course ANYWHERE ELSE. I'm also interested in penpalling with people from France too :) I would like to describe myself as quite lonely. I mean, I have a lot of friends, but I like being on my own and have lonely and peaceful activities: playing the piano (a bit), reading (a lot), watching movies sometimes (my knowledge in cinema is quite limited), listening to music (one of my fav. activities!), trying to improve my languages skills. Well, even if I'm not very social, I have social skills too (My job is in the psychology field), and I enjoy spending time with my friends... Unfortunately for them, they admitted that it's better to leave me alone after 10pm... My body hardly stay awoken after this time... I always have to apologise for that (lol)! My goal is to know as much as I can about other cultures! I can write in English, German (but it gives me a lot of work, and sometimes, I give up), Spanish (the same), and French (at least, it's possible). I am looking for SNAIL MAIL PEN PALS ONLY are welcome. I am NOT looking for romance. I don't have any money to give out (I spent it all!). I do NOT reply prison mail. I love adventure travel and road trips. I even enjoy traveling within the Philippines as we have many beaches and thousands of islands. I love the sea and sun and just simply enjoy being there. I love islands as well and the more remote the better I feel. I'm a collector of Buddha figurines. I enjoy collecting antiques and antiquities (ancient objects) and intricate wood carvings. I have a degree in psychology and sociology, but I am interested in many things like cryptozoology, history, poetry, alternative medicine, graffiti, music, civilizations, and architecture. I like reading. I'm not a book snob and lie to you that I only read serious, and deeply well-written books set in the medieval. I can appreciate a novel swimming in synthetic sugar on every page because it can mean a huge relief for me who breaks the monotonous drab of the lonely days, visiting libraries and escaping into the world, where nobody suffers from varicose veins so I also like the Twilight and Harry Potter series among other novels. I can read anything except westerns and harlequin type of romance. I do art as a pleasurable pastime because when I travel or sit down to write a letter, I also keep a journal of the things I have seen and done. I love art journaling and mail art. I cook, walk, watch movies at the cinema with mom, hang out at cafes, enjoy road trips, and magic, and lots of other things. I love to write about anything as I am very liberal minded and can converse on many subjects except pages of kids stuff as I don't have any kids yet. I don't want to know how many times you changed your baby's diapers. I don't hate kids, but don't write me a hundred pages only about your kids, you know? I accept both typed or handwritten letters as long as they are long and I can READ them, but I usually hand-write mine depending where my mood takes me and my letters are long. I don't really swap but it depends on the friendship; if someone has something that they love to swap, then we'll swap it. Otherwise, I just send random things: a printed napkin or take-out menu of a really great restaurant I've just been to, a candy wrapper, a business card from some idiot who wanted to network with me, or stuff from my country you can't find anywhere else. All I would ask is can I please have letters that are literate as a minimum, I can do FBs (friendship booklets) if you wish & swap postcards from time to time. Just make your letters 'alive', conversational and interesting and I'll be there! If you can draw or doodle, I LOVE mail art letters. It's a great way to jazz up a letter. But you don't have to know how to draw .. just write an interesting long letter that is fine with me. I have one rule though. Because my intro is long & detailed, I would appreciate it highly if you were to write me a long intro also. I want my time and stamp worth every second and cent. | Hello! I am Michelle, 29 yr old female from the USA. I am a happily married - no kids, but one very spoiled dog, college graduate who is constantly learning and would gladly live in a library or book store should the opportunity present itself. I am searching for long-term pen pals that write "real" letters (lists of what you watched on tv the past two weeks, favorite bands, favorite books, animals you wish you owned, favorite colors, etc. do not count as actual writing letters - they are just lists and I read enough of them everytime I go shopping). Long letters are a must, although I understand that can be a bit difficult in the beginning, before a conversation has really started. I do not care how long it takes for you to reply - I am a busy person too and if often takes me 6-8 weeks to find the time to complete a letter that I deem worthy of sending out. My main obsessions include music, reading, traveling (when time and money cooperate), find new amazing restaurants/stores/parks, histroy, cooking, and anything else that catches my attention. Lately I have been really into rearranging my house and redecorating, before that it was knitting. Reading is my main obsession - which is probably already rather obvious. I crave the written word and would happily spend hours every day devouring books. One of my main fears in life is running out of books to read, which explains the walls of book shelves and piles of books laying all over my house. My tastes in reading material varies from one week to the next (my life and bank account would suffer without libraries), but the only constants are my dislike of country/westerns and romance novels. The former puts me to sleep in minutes and the latter causes intense eye-rolling, which I doubt is a good thing. I am slowly starting to really enjoy cooking and trying new recipes - my only down fall is I hate to clean up afterwards! My life would be complete if all of my cooking pots/dishes would magically clean up after themselves. Sigh - a girl can always dream. Cleaning in general is something I hate to waste time on - one can only vacuum so much before something else distracts them. Sometimes I type, sometimes I write by hand - whichever is easier at the time. I have been known to do both in the same letter, although not often. My letters are not very colorful and I rarely use overly cute paper, I am more into the content vs. creativity. It is lovely to recieve a letter full of artwork and vibrant color - I am just not capable of providing that. My art skills end at stick people and I am lucky I remember to carry a pen with me, much less ones in multiple colors. Swapping is not really my thing - a postcard/picture or cd here and there is fine, but in general I do not swap. FBs are a definite NO - I wasn't into them when I was younger and am definitely not into them now. As for what I am looking for in a pen pal - someone who enjoys writing and is able to converse through letters. Age/location/interests are not super important. I am more concerned with the actual content of our conversation (which will most likely be on a million and one topics over time) as opposed to whether we have the same favorite band or if we both love yoga. It is more interesting to be a bit different, instead of identical in our intersts. A fellow book lover would be highly sought after, but not necessary. Most of all I am looking for someone who is commited to starting a correspondence and willing to put themselves and their thoughts down on paper in an attempt to form a friendship, which is what I try to do. I do not share all (or even any) of my secrets at once, but I suppose the ability to one day get to that point (like a "real life" friendship) is what I am searching for. My one must have in regards to correspondence is at least an attempt at proper grammer/spelling. I am not saying that I will going over each letter with the intensity of the grammer police (that would be a horrible nightmare), but please try to use the basics. My main concern is text speak - I do not use it and I do not understand it. Maybe I am just old, but if it is something you use often, well perhaps we are just not well-suited for each other. | Looking for pals who are open-minded and writing an actual letter to me. NOT interested in being "collected" in some way. I don't want to waste my time writing to someone who doesn't become an actual friend. I don't have anything against writing to males, but I have absolutely no interest in anything romantic with a pen pal. No prisoners either. I'm not into that. Basically I'm 32, love writing, art, photography, animals, books, and collect all sorts of things. I don't write often, because I am very busy, but when I do write, the letters will be long and you will get to know me. I'm not really interested in writing to people in the US, but it's not a definite no either. I love cute stationary, but I could really care less if you use it. Also, I want an actual pen pal. Not someone to email back and forth. Not that I don't use that, just that I'm not looking for that. I read all kinds of books, from classics to semi-garbage, depending on what kind of mood I'm in. I'm also into all kinds of music, but not really rap or country. Or pop. I'm not really interested in celebrities and stuff like that. I mean, I like tv and I like movies, but I could care less what they do in their personal lives. I'm pretty politically minded and have definite views, however, I also respect that other people have their own views. Which is why I'm not going to say which way my views lean. I like cooking and stuff like that, but I'm not really the most domestic girl... I keep my house clean but I don't obsess over it, or judge myself as a person by how often I wash the curtains. I like to sew and do embroidery, but it's not something I do often. I absolutely cannot knit. People have tried to teach me, but it never works. I love plants and gardening, but am not exactly the best at it. Still, every year I try my best and about half my plants die. Right now, I'm a little bit into the birds I feed outside.
