| Elle from US (Apr 2010) | |
| Hi! I'm looking to revive my old hobby of writing letters. I'm from New York, 30 years old, asian-american by heritage, born in NY and lived here my entire life. I have so much cute stationery that is just waiting to be used! I am obsessed with letter sets and stickers. I need penpals to give me an excuse to buy more stationery! When I was younger, I used to write so many letters, but now I feel like no one I know cares for handwritten letters at all. I've recently tried to force my friends to write letters back to me. So far only one has complied. :) The rest of them think I'm being archaic. I have a blackberry for work and am constantly bombarded with email. I get at least 100 pieces of email a day, which is probably why I have such a love for the elusive handwritten letter. I enjoy art, fashion, photography, reading, writing, music, and mysteries. I'm open to corresponding with anyone subject to the following limitations. I am NOT interested in corresponding with: -people who have horrendously sloppy illegible ugly handwriting; -anyone whose social activities center around extreme alcohol consumption; -anyone who smokes; -anyone who goes hunting. I'm not an animal activist, but I can't stand the thought of poor innocent furry animals being shot in the woods; -people with any type of personality disorder Other than that, I'm very open-minded! Please drop me a line and tell me a bit about yourself. Let the letters begin! My big box of stationery awaits! |

| Hi, as these things tend to goo I will start. I am 24 , a mommy and am happily married ---somtimes--- lol . I am looking for a nice pen pal. I wouldnt mind starting a frendship with someone over seas doesnt bother me or if you live in the states that fine too. I must say my spelling leaves alittle to be desired but aside of that I am a really down to earth person to talk to. Would really like to find a great freind... someone you can joke with talk about all sorts of things and really I just want that connection when u know you have found geniun freinship. You dont have to be into the same things as me or like every thing I do being diffrent makes u special and intresting. I wouldnt mind swapping as long as it fits in a envelope I am fine with it. I hope to hear from someone. Please put in subject line NEWPAL as I tend to have alot of spam in my inbox. Thankyou for looking. | |
| Irune from Spain (Apr 2010) | |
| Hello everyone, I'm here to make some new friends. I'm looking for some long letter snailmail pals to build a long-lasting friendship through handwritten letters. I would like to know sincere, open-minded girls that are looking for a real friend. We would talk about our hobbies, interests, passions, dreams, life experiences and all kind of other things. As for me, I'm a 24 y. o. girl living in Spain. I am an avid reader, I enjoy all kind of books. I also love traveling, I'm always dreaming about going to new places and meeting new people. I enjoy good movies and of course music. Music is one of the most important things to me. I'm kind of a romantic person, and very imaginative, but I'm not naive. I know what I want in life and I'm very confident. I love cooking and baking, and I'm always trying new things in the kitchen. I also enjoy going out for walks, taking pictures and drawing. Another thing about me that you need to know is that I'm a huge animal lover. I'm a vegan and animal rights activist. This is a really important thing to me so if you're not okay with that then I'm not the righ penpal for you. This doesn't mean that I only want to meet vegans, I would love to hear from anyone that respects me, but expect me to write about this topic sometimes: it is a big part of my life. I'm not a preacher, though, I'm not here to teach you how to live your own life. But if you're interested, I'd be more than happy to talk to you about it. If not, that's totally okay with me. My letters are usually medium-long, and I tend to use pretty or cute stationery just because it makes me happy. It's okay if you don't, though, I don't mind at all. I expect chatty, personal and worth-reading letters. I want to get to know you, so tell me everything about yourself! So, if you think we can get along and would like to start exchanging letters please send me an e-mail telling me a bit about yourself. I can wait to hear from you :) Hugs, Irune |

| M. from Finland (Apr 2010) | |
| Hello there! :) So yeah, like everyone else I am here to find pen pals. :) preferably someone who is into long letters. Not that I am dictating the length of a letter, but rather with long I mean someone who likes to talk about everything and anything. Whatever comes to your mind. let it all out. I like to share thoughts and experiences with my friends and yeah, that can fill a couple of pages. Basically, I love to talk and it would be perfect to find someone who thinks alike. The only thing that is really important to me is, that you write on a regular basis, meaning more than two letters in a year. I don't think you can build up a friendship if you write once a year or don't keep contact otherwise. We are all busy sometimes, but I want to get to know my penpals and build up a friendship. I am sorry if I sound too picky, actually I am not. :) That being said... I am living in a medium sized Finnish city and like it here. We have everything I need. That being ice hockey and a cinema. I love that game and am a movie-o-holic. I am also trying to shape up with zumba lessons, I love to go there with my friends, it is so much more fun than exercising alone. :) Of course there are also the letters. I am writing letters for over 9 years now and never lost the interest in that hobby. Also, for the facts, I am 25 years old, happily engaged to a wonderful man and working in a restaurant, which takes most of my time these days. I adore random things and thoughts. :) fairytale, Muse, strawberries, peanut butter, ice hockey, photography, playing wii, my cats, salt and vinegar crisps, swapping on swap-bot... Ok, if that got you interested, I'd be happy to hear from you. :) |

| I'm not only looking for someone to write to but to be as real, true friend with. I want us to be able to write about anything between life and death, thoughts, dreams ect but also silly things, anything we like to talk about. I want to get to know you. I'm a 25 y/o girl (I'm from Sweden but parents from China), tend to be a thinker and also shy, but I also like to be silly sometimes and have a laugh. I don't mind what personality you have, as long has we get along, and you are a bit open-minded and have a warm heart. I like reading books, taking walks, music, films, animated, old things, cute things, handcrafts, animals... I think it's interesting with other cultures and languages. Feeel free to write to me, please write a bit about yourself and anything you like. I hope to hear from a friendly soul soon. Thanks for reading. |

| I am looking for chatty penpals around my age who can talk/share about everything, not only talking about herself in the mail *but 2 ways communication: talking and asking back some questions*. I am 28 years old, live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I used to live in Melbourne, Australia about 7 years. I am pretty easy going and open minded. So I can talk about anything including taboo ones. N2: music.anime.manga.american/asian movies/tv series.football.ninjas.samurais.supernat ural.magic. f1 racing.sneakers.snoopy.hq fbs.fat mails.skulls.emily strange.punk.emo.vampires.retro/vintage. england. I also swap High Quality or nice and neat FBs. TYPED LETTERS AND STAMPS BACK NO NEED TO APPLY, sorry. I only want hand written pals, at least about medium length to long letters (e.g 2 pages of A4 papers or 3-4 pages of B5 papers). ONLY SERIOUS pals and people who can write regularly at least once a month. I know life can be unpredictable, busy and lots of things happen, but at least you can email me and tell me that youre busy and stay in touch time to time until you have your time to write me back. I cant stand with pals who only write 2-3 times a year where i cant remember what was on the last letter and too many to catch up. What else? I speak English, Indonesian, Taiwanese, Chinese Mandarin and basic of Japanese. If youre interested then email me for my address. Thanks. My email: b911qx@gmail.com |

| Éva from Hungary (Apr 2010) | |
| Hello, My name is Éva and I came to this site to find one or two real friends. Here are my requests: - long letter writer: just to avoid misunderstandings... a long letter for me is around 15-20 A5 pages, with medium handwriting. Of course a 1st letter is shorter, but if we really get along I write more then 20 A5. I like cute stationery but it's not a must, the content is more important. Sometimes when I am being creative I make my own stationery. I prefer handwritten mails, but now and then a typed one's also OK, if it's not a standard mail. - regular writer: I'd like to hear from u bout once a month but of course I can understand tt u can have some busy periods. But I surely want to have pals whom I hear bout not only once in every 3 months. And between the letters I love exchanging short e-mails. -ask/answer questions: I tend to ask lots of questions and love to be asked. It's the best way to get to know your friends. I am quite and openminded person, so u can ask me bout anything. In my mails I love deep conversations, bout events, opinions, memories. I try to comment everything tt my friend told me. It's like in real life. You usually don't leave leave withoust a comment what u were told. I really dislike monologue-like mails. - swap stuff: Since I am quite into foreign cultures I love swapping stuff bout our countries, eg. postcards, coins, banknotes, books, music. It's also not a must cos I can understand tt postage can be expensive. - I'd like to hear from females near my age (no moms), with similar interests. No short intros! - I'd love to hear from ppl from the USA. But if u are from an other country and think we'd REALLY click, pls drop me a detailed inro and we'll see how it works. And finally a few words bout me. I was born on febr7th,1980, I work at a bank. I love reading (eg. H. Murakami, B. Yoshimoto, P. Coelho), writing looong snail mails (been doing so since i was 11, now I have only 2 or 3 pals so u can see tt I am not a penpal collctor at all!), languages (was English major at uni and now study japanese on my own), music (esp 50s-70s, country and some alternative, my faves are: Elvis, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Cranberries, Green Day), collecting and swapping phonecards (I collect only from Hungary and Japan), cycling, long walks, cooking, baking, gardening, nature, flea-markets, cats, horses, spring, history, old postcards, coins, banknotes, New York, Eastern (esp Japanese)culture, my family and the few friends I have. :)) HOpe I'll get the chance to mee at least 1 great friend here, then it was already worth posting this ad. Bye, Éva |

| Marika from USA (Apr 2010) | |
| There's no better way to cheer up a day than going to the mailbox and finding a real letter inside! I've been snail mailing for many years now..it all started with a boy who I wrote to almost every day while he was overseas. It made me curious to see if there were other people out there who still thought snail mail was hip and fabulous, and it turned out there was a whole world of people! Now the boy is in the past, but my pen friends are some of my dearest friends. I'm always open to adding another sincere long-term friend to my little circle of peeps. I'm not a pen pal collector and I'd rather not be part of someone's collection. I'm not a swapper and I don't wanna be someone to dump a bunch of FBs on. I've done all of that, but now I'm looking for something more simple and personal. (Just my preference. ^^) If you think we're on the same page, would love to hear from you! Cheers! |

| Vanessa from Peru (Apr 2010) | |
| Hello everyone! I’m searching for penfriends around the world who are truly interested in cultivating a long-lasting friendship. I’m only interested in snail mail penpals, I’m not that into emailing, and it is much personal to receive and make a handwritten letter. A bit about me (just the basics): I’m a 30 year old girl, and I live in Lima, the capital of Peru. I love reading, listening to music, discussing many topics, board games, hanging out with my friends, swimming and travelling. I’m a firm believer that by knowing other countries, other people’s habits and cultures, you can become a much more understanding, tolerant and respectful person. Just what I think the world needs from all of us, tries to close the gaps, celebrate similarities but also respect differences. If I tried to define what kind of person I am, I would say I am reflexive, I have a great sense of humor and I love to laugh at any chance, but I also like to think about serious subjects. I’m very open minded and I’ve been told I’m a great listener. I like to share my ideas, thoughts, happiness and sad times with the people I love. I’m lesbian and I am in a committed relationship. So if you have a problem with that, then I’m definitely not the right penpal for you. Having said that, I also think that real love and genuine friendship doesn’t make distinctions on gender, sex, age, nationality or religion. There are only two things I ask: that anyone writing to me is only looking for friendship like me. And the second one, is that my new friend should be willing to write regularly, because really, developing a friendship takes time and commitment, which I’m also wiling to put my time and heart on it  So if you are looking for the same type of friend as I am, I will be more than happy to hear from you! |

| Mayra from USA (Apr 2010) | |
| Hello ladies~ My name is Mayra and I'm 29. I'm hoping to meet other long letter writers world wide who share similar interests. I've been penpalling for 11 years now and it is a passion of mine! I'm a cute (kawaii) stationery lover. I *love* to decorate my letters with stickers, deco tape and colorful pens. I think getting a pretty, decorated letter in the mail brightens your day. :) My letters are always long (3+ pages) and I would love penpals who enjoy writing medium - long letters. I love to talk about everything and would love to hear about your life and your culture. I also do small swaps. I would esp. love to trade small items or candies. I do swap some FBs as well as anime themed decos. I would love penpals from Europe or Asia, but I am not picky - as long as we have something in common, I will definitely write to you. :) Some of my interests and things I love are - cute stationery (all brands - in designs like sweets, cute foods, cute animals), Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movies, comics, World of Warcraft, EverQuest, scrapbooking, making jewelery, sticker flakes, pink and purple colored things, Pullips, Long & pretty letters, FBs, decos, music, reading, movies, Anthropology, Archaeology, Ancient Egypt, eyeshadows and of course - writing long letters! | Melanie from England (Apr 2010) | |
| Hi I'm 28 and would love to make some new friends. I hold no restrictions on age and things like that. I'm friendly, open and write regularly. I generally reply to a letter as soon as I receive it because of how slow snail mail moves :-) However, I don't expect my penpals to do the same. I'm an understanding person and an open ear. I love the paranormal, healing, animals, being in nature and true friendship. So if you are after a true friend, please write to me :-) | |
| Mir from The Netherlands (Apr 2010) | |
| Hello to all long letter ladies! : ) I’m searching for a small handful of new ladies who are seriously interested in a sincere and long-lasting friendship including many long, chatty and personal snail mail letters by hand. I’ve been penpalling for almost 17 years and naturally, I’ve had many different experiences with all kinds of penpals, therefore I really know what I’m looking for in a good penpal and what not. I’d love my pals to become my real and close friends, like some of my girls already are to me. Well, how do I define the term “friend”? To me it’s someone I can share everything with; my daily life, my hobbies, my experiences, my dreams, my sorrows and everything else that moves me in a positive or negative way. Of course, I want to learn everything about you and your life as well and become a part of your life, just like friends do. I love writing and receiving personal and long letters, letters that truly reveal something about the person behind the mask we sometimes have to hide behind in the “real world”. I enjoy deep and meaningful conversations, but at the same time it’s also important to me to share a good laugh with my penpals and to not write about sad and serious things only - I think a good mix of everything is what makes a friendship work. : ) Another fact I really care about is tolerance and acceptance of each other. I’m not interested in getting in touch with superficial and judgemental people who are only searching for a penpal with a fairy tale life, with no own opinion, with an ordinary life and who is just like everybody else. That’s not me. I will be different from most people you know and if you’re fine with that, you’ll find a sincere, honest and loyal friend in me. I don’t care who you are, how you live your life or if you have a complicated background – everyone is welcome to me as long as you accept me for who I am as well. : ) I’m a very open-minded person, thus I enjoy meeting different kinds of people with different stories and backgrounds. To me it’s interesting to share experiences since it often leads to a good friendship after discovering similarities. To tell you something about me, I’m a 31-year-old girl from the Netherlands . Music is my true love and I’m a passionate letter writer, furthermore I’m into making cards and watching tv shows like the forensic ones. I spend much time with my pets and I like to read. By the way, identical interests aren’t important to me, the main point is that there’s this certain “click”. You should be around 25-36 years old, and it would be great if you were from Scandinavia, the UK, the USA or Japan, but ladies from anywhere else are very welcome as well. : ) Hugs |
