| Hey there, I am a 27 year old girl from Austria/ Europe and I am looking for some new, sincere penpals. I started penpalling at the age of 11 and it used to be my favourite hobby when I was a teenager. After a little break I have decided to give it a new try now and therefore I hope to hear from some nice persons soon. I am mainly looking for female penpals around my age and I will definitely NOT reply to chain letters, letters asking for money or marriage proposals. ;) I am looking for someone to exchange daily experiences, thoughs, dreams, opinions etc. with. I love to get to know someone through letters and discuss about everything and anything. Some info about me: I work in health care and in my free time I enjoy to do the following things: spending time with my friends, reading, music, writing, travelling, cooking, watching movies and TV, shopping, sports (both active and passive), relaxing, being creative etc. I am currently single and do not have kids- of course I wouldn't mind if my penpals have a family- but to be honest, I am not interested in reading letters filled with family stories only. Also, I am looking for someone who enjoys to write letters longer than one or two pages. I prefer handwritten letters because I think they are a lot more personal, but of course a typed one every now and then is no problem at all ( and I sometimes type my letters as well). I enjoy to write my letters on nice paper and add small presents ervey now and then. Please do not contact me if you plan to stop writing after one or two letters again because this is more than frustrating. I would love to hear from people from Scandinavia (esp. Sweden) because I really like these countries and plan to begin with learning Swedish in September, but if you think we could become good friends, please contact me anyway- no matter where you are from! | Hello! I'm Jane, living in Montreal although I’m from England. My age is 30 but really feel younger! I love letters and postcards, and sending and receiving mail. I’m looking for sincere female penpals who like writing and receiving medium/long letters (I don’t mean novel-length letters, but more than a couple of paragraphs!) – and who won’t stop writing after a couple of letters (o: If you aren’t so keen on long letters and would like to be postcard-pals, that would be fun too! I love learning about other cultures and am particularly interested in Japan, Eastern Europe and Central/South America - but penpals from anywhere are welcome if we have things in common! Here is a little bit about my other interests/likes: reading (mysteries, classics, history, biographies, historical fiction), writing, watching old films and detective series, travelling, languages (I speak Spanish and Portuguese and would love to penpal in those languages but am equally happy to correspond in English and to help out if you are learning English. I'm about to start learning Dutch and am very excited about that!), visiting new places, learning about other cultures, tarot/paranormal/esoteric things, trying to learn to knit!, history (especially the Victorian period, and 1900s-1930s), collecting postcards/stickers/stationery, long walks, nature, music (pop, classical, world music, salsa), swapping. I also love cute stuff like pretty stationery, stickers, Hello Kitty and Miffy and enjoy swapping small-ish items with my penpals. | Hello everyone, I have just finished University and have suddendly found some extra time on my hands. I would love to make some new friends. I have a few penpals already and love getting proper letters through the post. I won't bore you now with my hobbies and interests, I will save all that for my letters. I always handwrite, my letters are always really long, stupidly so at times. I am a bit random in my letters and talk about everything and anything. I am almost 27, I live alone- aside from my cat Maggie. I write back pretty fast, normally about 3 weeks, but like I said my letters are long so it's worth the wait. I graduated from Uni in 2006 but I am considering studying again to become an English language teacher for when I hopefully move abroad in 2013. I love going to new destinations and exploring away from the tourist traps, haggling in crowded markets, feeling the sand between my toes, sitting in coffee shops with the local people absorbing the athmosphere and watching the sun set from the beach. I consider myself to be very optimistic and kind, I'm a good listener (even if I say so myself!) and I value friendship very highly. I am a loyal honest friend who wont just stop writing for no reason after one or two letters! For me 'penpals' are proper 'friends'. I want to write via snail mail only please, hope thats ok! I have been penpalling since I was 11, so I could know a lot of interesting people but... unluckily, most of them stopped writing without any kind of explaination. It's not so nice, as you can see. A little about me and me interests :) Penpalling is my main hobby of course. Then, I like dancing, reading everything, cinema, travelling, music, cooking and shopping... | Greetings all of you fellow snailmail long letter lovers! Do you seek to find true friendship through letters? Do you enjoy beautiful, meaningful, long letters and really getting to know your penpals? Then I might be a right penpal for you. I am 25 years old married female with a 3 year old son and a bunch of wonderful animals. My favorite things (other than long letters) include books and creative writing, art, painting, drawing, music, photography, libraries, museums, knitting, cats, candles, pretty stationery, walking, orthodoxy, nature, languages, cute stationery, manga, anime, movies, literature, poetry, tea, lazy mornings, cooking, baking, christmas, winter, snow, sunny days, light summer rain and the list goes on. I'd rather stay at home with a good book and a warm cup of tea or go to a cafe, working on my writing projects or a long letter than go out to a party. I'm constantly looking for book recommendations, or inspiration for things to capture on canvas or simply draw. Nature is a great love of mine, both wild life and marine life and of course anything to do with dogs, as I love my little furry animals. I always have a knitting project going on, whether it is something small like socks or something more time consuming. I can ensure you knitting isn't old fashioned at all ;) I tend to be very chatty when I get to know the other person well and I also like to share my life in the letters the way I would do with friends I see face to face. I want to form a true friendship with my penpals, sharing joys and sorrows of life. I am very loyal and genuine person, and that's what I am looking for in penpals as well. | Hi Everyone!! I'm Carole, 25 from France. I'd like to find new snail mail friends all over the world!! My fav. countries are SPAIN, JAPAN, S.KOREA, RUSSIA, AUSTRALIA, and of course ANYWHERE ELSE. I'm also interested in penpalling with people from France too :) I would like to describe myself as quite lonely. I mean, I have a lot of friends, but I like being on my own and have lonely and peaceful activities: playing the piano (a bit), reading (a lot), watching movies sometimes (my knowledge in cinema is quite limited), listening to music (one of my fav. activities!), trying to improve my languages skills. Well, even if I'm not very social, I have social skills too (My job is in the psychology field), and I enjoy spending time with my friends... Unfortunately for them, they admitted that it's better to leave me alone after 10pm... My body hardly stay awoken after this time... I always have to apologise for that (lol)! My goal is to know as much as I can about other cultures! I can write in English, German (but it gives me a lot of work, and sometimes, I give up), Spanish (the same), and French (at least, it's possible).
