| Hi! Im Aida and Im from Malaysia. I am 34 years old and married. I love writing letters. I have started writing to overseas pen pals since I was 12 years old. But Ive stopped writing a few years ago because of my work. Im more of an active swapper then. But I want to start anew on my letter writing hobby... and thats why I am here. Id like to have snail mail pals from all over the world. I prefer hand written letters (no typed and no e-pals please). I love reading and photography. I also love shopping, watching Korean dramas, cute stationeries and creativity as well as individuality. I also love making Friendship Books. The only things that I collect is bookmark (I use that for my reading). Even though I would prefer to have someone around my age as my pen pals but its not a big deal. | Dear long letter writers, I am here to look for new friends from all over the planet! And I think I should tell you a bit about me and especially about my writing habits before you decide to send me a message. - First and foremost: I love writing! It is my one of my biggest passions, if not THE biggest one and accordingly, my letters are long and full of everything: life, life and life. No subject is too unimportant to be talked about, no idea too complicated to discuss. - I put a lot of effort in my letters. I enjoy using stationery, colourfully decorated sheets of paper (self-made and bought ones), stickers,...and I am very inventive when it comes to discovering new ways of decorating my paper & the envelopes. No great pictures from journals, magazines, the www, etc. are safe from me when I want to use them for my letters, to put a smile on your face. It would be wonderful to find someone who also enjoys sending such decorated letters, as it is soooo much more fun to be creative together! - As for the length of my letters, I think its quite safe to say that I am a long letter lady. (whatever that means) No, joke aside: as I love writing, I nearly never stop before I have written at least 10 sheets (back and front and A4), except maybe when I send a first letter as those are sometimes quite difficult to write. In case we click, my letters will definitely turn into novellas and maybe even novels. - I write once a month. I am trying to, that is. Sometimes it may take me longer, about five or six weeks, but not longer than that. You definitely wont have to wait for half a year, as it seems a little pointless in my opinion to exchange letters only once or twice a year. - My pen pals are my friends. I think that sentence says it all. They are no hobby, no short-term obsession, no things. Just real, good, wonderful, unique, very special friends! ***** I love: my friends & family, literature, bookshops, glossy covers, very old books and their smell, music, receiving long letters, girl stuff, girl talks, glitter, handbags, cute cartoons, necklaces, rings, honest people, everything gothic, wolves, vampires (attention: aversion to the Twilight saga, despite my obsession for vampires & the dark side...or should I say because of it! *lol*), riddles, myths, legends, faeries, religions, discovering the meaning & purpose of life, nature, animals, butterflies, hay, cold drinks, cherries, strawberries, peace signs, hippie-ish attitudes, Johnny Depp, jokes (all sorts of, from stupid to dirty), funny dances, cycling, languages, learning new swearwords in new languages, cultures, lifestyles, things that make other people happy, candles, teddy bears, pineapples, funky pens, browsing pen pal sites, spring, flowers, freshly mown grass, dry leaves, poppy fields, cool nights, the moon, stars, getting up early in the morning, poetry, dots, cards, postcards, complicated men, psychology, violin music, the morning sun, rain, the sea, water, stones, concerts, hands in the air, stamps, rainbows, ravens, Robert Downey Jr, history, fish, cliffs, Christmas, cookies, chocolate, romances, trees,.... Conclusion: I love a lot of things! *lol* And this is only a tiny, tiny list. ***** Just wondering: do I sound like someone you would like to get to know? Do you love to write long and detailed letters, is it easy for you to hold a conversation and to talk and talk and talk? Do you also say that your pen pals are friends? Yes? | Hi there, I'm a 32-year-old girl originally from Germany, but now happily living in France for more than two years already. Having started a new life here is something I really don't regret and I think this experience made me more open-minded and gave me so much! I have a good job, a nice flat in a very beautiful small town close to Lyon and I am very much in love with a French man who made me smile again after some bad experiences with men... but well, I guess all of us have these kind of experiences, that's life! To tell a bit about myself: Im interested to many things and always open to new things, too, but mainly I love everything that has to do with languages or history and archaeology. In my studies I mainly concentrated on French Linguistics and the history of the language, the development from Latin to Modern French and Spanish and so on, but I also did studies in history and archaeology. As in the region where I grew up in Germany there are many Roman and Celtic towns, we visited a lot all these places, also took part in a few excavations and it was always interesting. Nevertheless I'm the most fascinated by the Middle Ages. I'm quite a romantic girl, love castles and medieval stories and thinking about knights fighting for their lady ... maybe I should admit that I also often read love stories. I know that it's not serious litterature, but sometimes I love to dream myself away... I read quite a lot, mainly thrillers, mystery books and suspense stories (my favourite authors are Jean-Christophe Grangé, Franck Thilliez, Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child,... and since I'm here in France I'm discovering the books by Harlan Coben which I like a lot... and I'm reading them now all one after the other). I also like history novels and my favourite book is still Umberto Eco's Name of the Rose! I already read it several times and it still keeps me fascinated. In cinema I also prefer thrillers or monumental films like Gladiator or Kingdom of Heavens... I also like French comedies a lot and since I live here in France I have to say that I'm more often to cinema than ever before... Well, I studied languages and always wanted to work in that field, but it really is difficult these days to find a good job. In Germany it was nearly impossible to find anything. I could only work part-time as teacher, but have to admit that I didn't like it at all being a teacher. I would have been much more interested in linguistic research and I also started to write my thesis, but at the moment I'm doing a break. At least I found a job now where languages are very important. We all speak several languages and have to talk to our customers in French, German, English, Spanish, Russian or whatsoever. Nevertheless, I am currently also trying to find a new job in the hope to find something more related with my studies again. A very important part oif my life is also penpalling. I love fat mail, long letters, exchanging FBs and postcards, exchanging on facebook with my friends... I am into penpalling since I have been 11 years old and couldn't stop ever since. I am also addicted to buy new stationery, I really can't prevent myself from it. Currently I am looking for a few new honest and sincere pals, willing to start a real longlasting friendship... I am not picky when it comes to age or hobbies or whatsoever, the main thing is that we "click", the only thing I don't like is when you ask for your stamps back/ As a stamp collector I am not willing to send them back to you, sorry... | Hello penpallers around the world, my name is Alex, Im 26 and I live in the beautiful State of Maine, which is the most northern State on the Eastcoast of the USA. We have loooooong snowy winters and beautiful falls. Spring and summer are great too though.^^ I feel like living on vacation all year long. (Maybe thats why Maines nickname is vacationland hihi) I live in a small city with my fiance and my two cats and thanks to those three, my life never gets boring. I would describe myself as a friendly, kind and loyal person. I value peoples trust in me and I do my best to always be there when Im needed. I love laughing and having fun. Im looking for kind and loyal FEMALE long letter pals around my age (24-30) who are interested in building a wonderful, long lasting friendship and writing letters with me on a regular basis (not only 2-3 letters per year) and maybe swap postcards every once in a while or other cute things. I love long and creative letters and of course I love colorful and cute stationery. I handwrite 99% of my letters and Id like pals who do the same. If you have to type your letter every once in a while because you dont have too much time to write by hand, thats fine and I understand cause that happens to me too sometimes. However, thats rarely the case. I prefer handwritten letters because they are much more personal. And because everyones life can get busy sometimes, I totally understand when it takes you a little bit longer to reply. Although I work full time and do some freelancing work on the side (Im a graphic and web designer) I still have some free time, believe it or not. ^^ I enjoy writing (letters, novels and short stories), reading, music (Dido is my all time fave!), web development, design, dancing, movies, spending time with my friends, cooking & baking, learning new things, shopping ^^, photographing, inline skating, snowshoeing, swimming, going to the beach, going for hikes and walks and collecting postcards. I love love love animals, the nature, the ocean, computers & internet, postcards, cute stationery, winter and fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas, bookstores, cinnamon bread, mornings and sunrises, a full mailbox, snow, thunderstorms, walking barefoot on the beach, CSI:Miami and a lot more.
